You can also click the color swatch to
display the Dreamweaver browser-safe color picker.
Note that although you can specify a different background color for the AP element, you can??™t
alter the AP element??™s default text and link colors (except on an AP-element-by-AP-element
basis) as you can with a page. If your page and AP element background colors are highly contrasting, be sure
your text and links are readable in both environments. A similar caveat applies to the use of an AP element??™s
background image, as explained in the next section.
Background Image option
Just as you can pick a specific background color for AP elements, you can select a different background
image for AP elements. You can type a file source directly into the Background Image text box or select your
file from a dialog box by clicking the Browse button. The AP element??™s background image supersedes the AP
element background color, just as it does in the HTML page. Similarly, just as the page??™s background image
tiles to fill the page, so does the AP element??™s background image.
Nesting option
The two best options regarding AP elements seem to be directly opposed: overlapping and nesting AP elements.
You can design AP elements to appear one on top of another, or you can code AP elements so that
they are within one another.
