Be sure to choose the correct path before you launch into your site definition!
Using the Site Definition Wizard to define a new site is a quick, convenient way to get a site
off the ground. In some cases, however, it is not complete. Depending on the site, you might
have to use the Advanced tab of the Site Definition dialog box to specify additional site options, such as testing
server details, cloaking, and so on.
Defining a site that does not use a server technology
To use the Site Definition Wizard to define a site that does not use a server technology (that is, a site that
contains no server-side code), perform the following steps:
1. Choose Site ??? Manage Sites.
2. In the Manage Sites dialog, click New and select Site from the submenu to open the Site
Definition dialog box.
3. Click the Basic tab of the Site Definition Wizard if it is not already selected. If a message appears
informing you that the root folder you have chosen is the same as another folder, ignore it, and
click OK to close the message box.
In the What Would You Like To Name Your Site? field, type a name to identify your site within
Dreamweaver, as shown in Figure 5-5. Choose a descriptive name; spaces are fine, for example,
mySite, my_site, My Site, and so on are all acceptable.
