6. Click Next to move to the Editing Files, Part 3 page of the wizard. Select the appropriate option
for How Do You Want To Work With Your Files During Development? The choices are: Edit And
Test Locally; Edit Locally Then Upload To Remote Testing Server; or Edit Directly On Remote
Testing Server Using Local Network.
If you choose either of the first two options, you must create and/or specify the site??™s root folder
on your local disk in the Where On Your Computer Do You Want To Store Your Files? field.
If you choose Edit Directly On Remote Testing Server Using Local Network, create and/or specify
the site??™s root folder on your network in the Where Are Your Files On The Network? field.
7. Click Next to move to the Testing Files page of the wizard. At this point, the Site Definition
Wizard branches off into several different subpaths, depending on the option you chose in step 5.
Your step 7 subpath might consist of one or several wizard pages. The thing to remember: All
step 7 subpaths eventually lead to step 8??™s Summary page.
Describing all possible subpaths would take several pages, and to wade through them would be
counterproductive. Fortunately, the options you must choose in each subpath are quite selfexplanatory:
the absolute URL of your remote site root (http://hostname/path/
filename), the method you use to connect to your remote server (such as FTP, Local/Network,
or RDS), and so on.
