Dreamweaver create your specified site.
10. In the Files panel, click the Expand/Collapse button to expand to remote/local pane view. In the
Local Files pane (on the right, by default), Dreamweaver shows the local root folder for your
newly defined site to enable you to view all your local disks/folders/files. In the Remote Site pane
(on the left, by default), Dreamweaver shows your remote folders/files (depending on your site
definition, you might need to click the Connects To Remote Host button to show the remote

Laying the Groundwork in Dreamweaver CS3 Part I
Using Advanced mode
Advanced mode comprises eight categories of information: Local Info, Remote Info, Testing Server,
Cloaking, Design Notes, Site Map Layout, File View Columns, and Contribute. Note that only the first three
categories??”Local Info, Remote Info, and Testing Server??”are essential for site definition. Once I became
familiar with the interface, I found Advanced mode to be much easier to navigate than Basic mode.
The other categories in the Site Definition dialog box Advanced mode (Cloaking, Design
Notes, Site Map Layout, and File View Columns) are helpful for working in a team environment
and for working visually with Dreamweaver??™s Site Map; you can find more information on these features
later in this chapter and in Chapter 31.
