"Dreamweaver CS3 Bible"

If a designer has files to
work on locally and the connection information needed for uploading them, he doesn??™t need to create a
local site. All he needs is a connection to the server and the knowledge of where the file should be stored.
Because the designer is working without a locally defined site, the file must be saved in a particular
location.
To save a file on a remote server, follow these steps:
1. Choose File ??? Save to Remote Server. The Save File dialog box, shown in Figure 5-14, appears.
Server connections, as well as any site with a remote server, are displayed.

Servers must be previously defined in Dreamweaver to be listed in the Save File dialog box.

2. Double-click the server where you want to store the file. Dreamweaver connects to the server and
retrieves a folder and file listing.
3. Navigate to the desired folder and enter a name for your file in the Filename field.
4. Click Save to transfer the file or Cancel to abort.
Dreamweaver transfers the current file as well as any dependent files.
The Save to Remote Server feature can also be used to move a file from one site to another.
Instead of choosing a server connection from the Save File dialog, select a previously defined
site.
