Cutting, copying, and pasting
Text can be moved from one place to another??”or from one Web document to another??”using the standard
cut-and-paste techniques. No surprises here: Before cutting or copying anything, you must select it.
Select by clicking the mouse at the beginning of the text you want to cut or copy, drag the highlight to the
end of your selection, and then release the mouse button.
Here are some other selection methods:
n Double-click a word to select it.
n Move the pointer to the left margin of the text until the pointer changes to a right-facing arrow.
Click once to highlight a single line. Click and drag down the margin to select a group of lines.
n Position the cursor at the beginning of your selection. Hold down the Shift key and then click
once at the end of the selection.
n Select everything in the body of your document by using Edit ??? Select All or the keyboard shortcut
Ctrl+A (Command+A).
n Use the Tag Selector in the status bar to select text or other objects contained within specific tags.
n You can also select text by holding down the Shift key and using the right or left arrow key to
select one character at a time. If you hold down Ctrl+Shift (Command+Shift), press the right or
left arrow key to select one word at a time.
