1. In the Techniques site, expand the 08_Text folder and open text_start.htm.
2. Highlight and delete the placeholder text, Content for id ???middle??? Goes Here.
3. Enter the heading: Neighborhood Watch: East Side.
4. With your cursor still in the heading, from the Property inspector??™s Format list, choose h1.
5. Make sure your cursor is at the end of the heading and press Enter (Return).
A new paragraph is created. Rather than type in a paragraph of text, use Dreamweaver??™s advanced
copy/paste ability to bring in formatted text.
6. In the 08_Text folder, double-click the neighborhood.rtf file to open it in your text editor.
7. In your text editor, select all the text and copy it.
8. Back in Dreamweaver, place your cursor on the line below the heading.
9. Choose Edit ??? Paste Special.
10. In the Paste Special dialog box, choose the Text Plus Basic Formatting option; make sure the Clean
Up Word Paragraph Spacing option is selected and click OK.
Dreamweaver converts the copied text to HTML and inserts it into the page.
11. Save your page.
The next time you open the Paste Special dialog box, the chosen setting will be remembered.
