Should you select text containing a greater number
of characters, Dreamweaver assumes you want to search the selection and keeps the Search field clear.
4. Select the appropriate search options, if any:
n If you want to find an exact replica of the word as you entered it, select the Match Case checkbox;
otherwise, Dreamweaver searches for all variations of your text, regardless of case.
n To force Dreamweaver to disregard any whitespace variations, such as additional spaces, hard
spaces, or tabs, select the Ignore Whitespace Differences option. For most situations, it??™s a
good idea to leave this default option enabled.
n Selecting Use Regular Expressions enables you to work with Dreamweaver??™s wildcard characters
(discussed later in this section). Use Regular Expressions and Ignore Whitespace
Differences are mutually exclusive options.
5. Click the Find Next button to begin the search from the cursor??™s current position.
n If Dreamweaver finds the selected text, it highlights the text in the Document window.
n If Dreamweaver doesn??™t find the text in the remaining portion of the document, it automatically
continues the search from the beginning of the document until the entire document has
been checked.
n If Dreamweaver doesn??™t locate the search term, it displays a message saying the term has not
been found.
