Relative sizing does give you additional flexibility
because you can resize all the fonts in an entire Web page with one command. Absolute sizes, however,
are more straightforward to use and can be coded in Dreamweaver without any additional HTML
programming. Once again, it??™s the designer??™s choice.
Absolute size
You can assign an absolute font size through either the Property inspector or the menus. In both cases, you
choose a value, 1 (smallest) through 7 (largest), to which you want to resize your text; you might note that
this order is the reverse of the heading sizes, which range from H1 to H6, largest to smallest.
To use the Property inspector to pick an absolute font size, follow these steps:
1. Select your text.
2. In the Property inspector, open the Size drop-down list of options. If the Size drop-down list is
not visible on the Text Property inspector, click the Toggle CSS/HTML Mode icon, located to the
right of the Format drop-down list.
3. Choose a value from 1 to 7.
To pick an absolute font size from the menu, follow these steps:
1. Select your text.
2. Choose Text ??? Size and pick a value from 1 to 7, or Default (which is 3).
You can also click the Font Tag Editor button in the Text category of the Insert bar to adjust
font size, color, and so on.
