Highlight
The fading highlight, one of the earliest Web 2.0 techniques, was first implemented by Web application
developers 37Signals (www.37signals.com). In this technique, a certain event (such as a page loading or
a user tabbing into a form element) triggers a sudden burst of color behind a section of text, which quickly
fades away. This effect works well to momentarily bring the page visitor??™s attention to a particular page element
without disrupting the final layout. You can accomplish this same result??”with many variations??”by
applying the Highlight effect.
