To add either of these objects to the page, return to Standard mode.
n Layout cells and tables cannot be copied, cut, or pasted. These operations are available in
Standard mode, however.
It??™s worthwhile to note that Layout mode works exceedingly well with Dreamweaver??™s Grid feature. With the
grid showing (View ??? Grid ??? Show Grid) and Snap to Grid enabled (View ??? Grid ??? Snap to Grid), laying
out cells and tables precisely is quite literally a snap. With Dreamweaver??™s Layout mode, complex but
useful designs, like the one shown in Figure 13-23, are within easy reach.

Nested tables??”created in Dreamweaver??™s Layout mode??”offer the Web designer tighter command of Web page
elements.
Under certain circumstances, Dreamweaver mistakenly creates empty table cells??”cells without
a non-breaking space??”which can break a table??™s structure in some browsers. This occurs
most frequently when the table is resized by dragging the border of a layout table. You can avoid this problem
by resizing the table via the Property inspector. If you do encounter any empty cells, be sure to enter a
non-breaking space in the tag by hand in the code or explicitly draw out a cell in Layout mode.
