Modifying layouts
Layout mode not only facilitates creating the initial design for a page, it also makes the inevitable modifications
more straightforward. You can position cells within a layout table much like AP elements on a page.
Unlike AP elements, however, cells cannot overlap. Resizing layout cells and tables is also simpler. Unlike
Standard mode, in which any table or cell border is draggable, in Layout mode, cells and tables have sizing
handles??”much like a selected image.
Changing layout cell properties
For you to easily manipulate layout and cells, the cells have to be readily selectable. Dreamweaver handles
that chore with colorful flair. Pass your cursor over any layout cell; when you pass the border of a cell, it
changes from blue to red. Click once on the red highlighting, and the cell is selected. A selected cell is
notable by the eight sizing handles placed on its perimeter. After a cell is selected, the Property inspector
displays its available attributes.
