"Dreamweaver CS3 Bible"

Select
the Frameset object from this menu to insert a set of tags. Likewise, choosing the Frame
object inserts the tag pair. Code hints are available for all the frame-related attributes.
The other entries in the HTML Frames menu, Floating Frame and No Frames, are covered later in this
chapter in the ???Investigating Iframes??? and ???Handling Frameless Browsers??? sections, respectively.
Creating a frameset visually
Another way of creating a frameset is to start with an existing document and use the mouse to drag and
drop the frame borders into position. When you do this, Dreamweaver creates all the new files necessary for
your frameset. To create a frameset visually, using the mouse, follow these steps:
1. If necessary, switch to Design view by clicking the Show Design View button on the Document
toolbar or by choosing View ??? Design. (You can also work in the combined Design and Code
view, but these steps do not apply to Code view.)
2. Turn on the frame borders in Design view by choosing View ??? Visual Aids ??? Frame Borders. A
3-pixel??“wide inner border appears along the edges of your Design view. These borders indicate
the boundaries of your frames so that you can edit them easily; these borders do not appear when
the frameset is viewed in a browser window.
