If you just
want to move the border, make sure you don??™t press the Alt (Option) key while dragging the border because
that action creates additional frames.
Another method of creating a frameset by splitting the page into frames uses the menus. Open
a document that you want to appear in one of the frames. Then choose Modify ??? Frameset
and, from the submenu, select the direction in which you would like to split the frame: left, right, up, or
down. Left or right splits the frame in half vertically; up or down splits it horizontally in half. The direction
indicates where the content will go; for example, the Split Frame ??? Left command splits the page into
???columns??? and places the existing document into the left frame.
Creating framesets quickly with frame objects
Dragging out your frameset in Dreamweaver is a clear-cut method of setting up the various frames. However,
despite the ease of this procedure, it can still be a bit of a chore to create even simple framesets by clicking
and dragging. To hasten the development workflow, Dreamweaver uses frame objects, which can build a
frameset with a single click.
As previously mentioned, most Web sites using frames follow a simple, general pattern. Dreamweaver includes
frame objects for the most common frameset configurations.
