9. To initially sort the data, choose the desired column from the Sort list and the desired Direction.
10. To avoid duplicate column, select the Distinct On Load option.
11. To load data directly from the server, enable the Turn XML Caching Off option. Normally, the data
is cached on the client??™s system when the page is loaded to enhance performance. If the data is
updates frequently, you should select this option to disable caching.
12. To update the data automatically, select the Auto Refresh Data option and enter the frequency for
the refresh in milliseconds; 1000 is equal to 1 second. Some XML files, like the one used to display
product details on Adobe Labs, are modified very infrequently. Others, such as those used for
showing stock prices, are in constant flux. Dreamweaver lets you set how frequently the XML data
should be refreshed, if at all. If the Auto Refresh option is not enabled, the data is loaded just
once, when the page is first requested.
13. When you??™re done, click OK.
14. Save your page. When you save your page the first time a Spry XML data set is created,
Dreamweaver informs you that supporting files have been copied to your site and must be
uploaded to your remote site for final implementation. The Spry support files in this case are
SpryData.
