Working with Spry tables
Without a doubt, the fastest way to integrate Spry data into your page is with the Spry Table object. The
only preliminary step required is to set up a Spry XML data set??”inserting a Spry Table does the rest, and
even includes enhanced functionality. With a fully functioning Spry table, you??™ll be able to sort columns and
automatically update an associated Spry detail region under user interaction. The Spry Table object also
includes robust CSS support that display different CSS styles on odd and even rows as well as when the
user??™s mouse hovers or clicks on any row.
To insert a Spry table in your page, follow these steps:
1. Make sure that you??™ve established a Spry XML data set.
2. Place your cursor where you??™d like the Spry table to appear.
If you??™ve already created a place your cursor within the region; however, if you haven??™t the Spry
table object will offer to create one for you after you??™ve completed the Insert Spry Table dialog box
(see Figure 18-11).

The Spry Data Table creates sortable data grids with CSS styling quickly and easily.
3. Select your data set from the Spry Data Set list.
4. Choose which columns you??™d like to appear in the table.
