If you just want to make sure a text value of some kind is entered, leave the Type set to None and
verify that the Required option is selected.
6. If you??™ve chosen a validation type with a number of formats, choose the one you want from the
Format list.
7. If you want the form field to check the validation prior to submitting the form, select the Validate
On Blur or Change options. You can select both options but for text fields, validating on blur??”
after the user has tabbed or clicked away from the field??”covers all possibilities, including
whether or not the user has changed the entry.
8. Enter any text you want to appear as the default entry in the Hint field. When the user selects a
text field with a hint in it, the hint is removed. This functionality allows you to prompt your user
for the desired information.
9. Set any other available options for the chosen validation. Depending on the validation type chosen,
you may be able to set the minimum and maximum number of characters as well as the minimum
and maximum value.
