Adding Advanced Design Features Part III
Spry Validation Textarea
The textarea form element is used to gather any amount of text, from a couple of words to several paragraphs.
Because the textarea is open to accept any type of input, there is no validation type as with the text
field. However, it is not uncommon for the number of characters to be limited in some fashion, either with
a minimum, a maximum, or both. The Spry Validation Textarea widget easily handles these requirements??”
and with a great deal of flair.
The Spry Validation Textarea widget can easily make the textarea field required through a Property inspector
option. You can specify the number of characters desired: minimum, maximum or both. Any attempt to
enter text beyond the maximum characters can be blocked. To help the user keep track, a counter can be
added to show either the number of characters entered or remaining.
