Working with recordsets
Recordsets need to be modified from time to time. To alter an existing recordset, double-click its name in
the Bindings panel. The Recordset dialog box opens with the existing values. Which Recordset dialog box
opens??”simple or advanced??”depends on two things: whether the recordset can be displayed only in the
advanced dialog box and which dialog box was open last. If, for example, you are working with a simple
recordset but had the advanced Recordset dialog box open last, the advanced Recordset dialog box opens.
When you??™re editing the recordset, be sure you??™re double-clicking its name rather than the plus
or minus sign or the symbol in front of the name. Double-clicking the symbols only expands
and collapses the recordset tree.
It??™s not unusual for the same recordsets to be used on different pages??”and it??™s even more likely that similar
recordsets will be needed. Dreamweaver enables you to copy a recordset from one page to another.
Although this is good for those few times you use the exactly the same recordset on multiple pages, it??™s great
for the many times when recordsets are only slightly different. To copy a recordset from one page to
another, follow these steps:
1. In the Bindings panel, select the recordset you??™d like to copy.
