In this Technique, you practice working with Live Data settings, both in the dialog box and in the Live Data
query string field.
1. From the Techniques - Dynamic site (established in Chapter 18), expand the 21_Live_Data folder
and open the live_data_start file for your server model.
Before you can use the Live Data settings to alter the preview, you need to know how the recordset
is being filtered.
2. In the Bindings panel, double-click the Recordset (rsProperties) entry to reopen the associated dialog
box.
3. Take note of the Filter section and you??™ll see that the recordset is filtered by the URL parameter
type.
4. Click Cancel to close the recordset dialog box.
5. Now that you know what variable the recordset is filtered on, you can specify it in the Live Data
settings. Choose View ??? Live Data Settings.
6. When the Live Data Settings dialog box opens, click Add (+) and in the Name column enter type
and press Tab.
7. In the Value column, enter rental and click OK.
