"Dreamweaver CS3 Bible"

n You can send values from a form either by way of the query string or, in a hidden manner, in a
separate object seen only by the server. The first technique uses the Get method and the second
technique uses Post.
n Dreamweaver includes several application objects that reduce the building of common dynamic
components??”or even whole applications??”to one step. Application objects can be combined
with Dreamweaver templates for rapid application development.
n To craft applications that update records in a data source, you must know how to tie the various
form elements to dynamic data. In Dreamweaver, the basic procedure is to include a standard
form element and then choose the appropriate server behavior from the Dynamic Elements submenu
of the Server Behaviors panel.
n Many Web applications are not concerned with publicly viewed sites on the Web, but rather with
administratively oriented pages designed to manage data sources remotely. Dreamweaver includes
a full complement of tools for inserting new records, updating existing ones, and deleting data
that is no longer required.
n After you??™ve declared a variable in Dreamweaver, it is available for display through the Bindings
panel. Each server model has its own set of variables.
n Dreamweaver enables you to create a user authentication system quickly to protect valuable
customer information or paid subscription sites.
