Now, Adobe has created an easier way to integrate Flash movies and
Web pages: Flash elements.
If you have more than one Flash or Shockwave movie??”whether a Flash element or not??”on
your page, you can control them all by choosing View ??? Plugins ??? Play All and View ???
Plugins ??? Stop All. If the files appear in different pages in a frameset, you have to repeat the Play All command
for each page.
Flash elements are a product of the Flash MX evolution. Starting with the first MX release, designers had the
capability to create components in Flash; components are self-contained objects that enable designers to
quickly add frequently used functionality to a Flash movie. Initial components included user interface
objects, such as checkboxes, radio buttons, and drop-down menus. A key advantage of these components is
that after they are inserted on a page, the designer can easily change various associated parameters, such as
labels, color, font, and even content. Whereas the parameters of Flash components must be changed within
Flash, the parameters of a Flash element can be altered in Dreamweaver. A Flash element is, in actuality, a
compiled Flash component. Flash elements are stored in a format different from that of the standard Flash
