"Dreamweaver CS3 Bible"

swc file extension as opposed to the .swf associated with a
Flash movie.
The process for working with Flash elements is a bit different from that of a Flash movie. Here??™s an overview
of how Flash elements work:
1. When you insert a Flash element, you??™re asked where you want to store the file, rather than which
source file to use. Dreamweaver is actually placing a copy of the compiled .swc file in your site
in .swf format.
2. After the file has been copied to your specified location, the Flash placeholder appears on your
page. All standard Flash attributes are available in the Property inspector.
3. The Tag Inspector panel displays a Flash element tab that lists all the specific parameters for the
selected object. Modify the parameters by selecting the corresponding default value; depending
on the type of parameter, a new interface may appear. For example, the bgColor attribute,
which sets the color for the background, displays a color picker. The titleSize attribute, on
the other hand, uses a standard text field for entering new font size values for the object??™s title.
4. Review the Flash element in Dreamweaver by clicking Play on the Property inspector. To test it
out fully, preview the page in the browser either locally or on your site, as shown in Figure 25-7.
