Inserting Flash and Shockwave Elements 25
FIGURE 25-7
To be viewed, Flash elements require Flash Player 7 or higher.
5. Upload to your site as you would normally. The Flash file is considered a dependent file of the
page and is transferred automatically by Dreamweaver.
Dreamweaver comes with one Flash element, Image Viewer. More Flash elements are available through
third parties on the Adobe Exchange and other sites. The following sections describe how to add an Image
Viewer to your Web page and how to use it.
Working with the Image Viewer
The Image Viewer Flash element is, in essence, a slide-show utility. With it, you can specify any number of
images to display in a contained area, complete with transitions and navigation controls. Images are loaded
dynamically and automatically scaled to fit into the viewing area, which you can resize. You also have control
over the background color and overall title, and you can individually caption pictures for easy identification.
Preset navigation controls enable users to move from one picture to another in sequence or go
directly to a particular image. Ten different transitions are available to choose from??”or you can opt to use
them all, randomly.
The latest version of the Flash player supports dynamic loading of JPG, GIF, and PNG image
formats.
