"Dreamweaver CS3 Bible"

Flash has supported sound from early
on and in recent years has strengthened its MP3 playback mechanism. If you??™re working with a Flash designer,
creating a MP3 playback movie is relatively straightforward.
One robust solution for incorporating Flash audio is provided by Hayden Porter with his FlashSound API project
(www.flashsoundapi.com). The FlashSound API is an open source JavaScript library, freely available.
The site contains a range of tutorials and full documentation.
If you??™re looking for a drop-in solution, a series of low-cost commercial players are available from
WimpyPlayer (www.wimpyplayer.com). These Flash MP3 players support both PHP and ASP as well as
XML playlists.
8. In the Value column, enter a unique name for the sound file. This unique console name is used to
link the controls to the audio file.
9. Click OK when you??™re finished.
10. In the Property inspector, select the Embed option to make the audio cross-browser compatible.
Now you??™re ready to add the controls that enable user interactivity. Follow these steps:
1. Again, choose Insert ??? Media ??? ActiveX or select the ActiveX object from the Media menu on
the Insert bar??™s Common category.
2. From the ActiveX Property inspector, set the ClassID to RealPlayer.
