"Dreamweaver CS3 Bible"

Select this option when you want to make it possible for users to base their pages on any existing
page found on the site.
n Create A New Page By Copying A Page From This List: This option is a refinement of the previous
one. Rather than allowing users to use a copy of any page from the site as a starting point, if
you enable this option you specify which pages may be copied. After the option is enabled, the
Add and Remove buttons become active, so you can choose files to copy and remove those
choices later.
n Use Dreamweaver Templates: Dreamweaver templates are ideal for working with Contribute
because they maintain the overall look and feel of a page while focusing contributors on working
within editable areas. If you enable this option, you can choose between allowing members of a
given role to copy any template or just specific ones in the site. Templates can be hidden from a
role and later revealed or vice versa.
NOTE NOTE
972
Enhancing Productivity and Web Site Management Part VI
Initially, I find it helpful to limit the options for creating new pages, such as copying specific standard
pages, working with certain templates, or both. Keep in mind that, if necessary, role options can be altered
at any time.
File Placement
The File Placement category allows the administrator to specify where dependent files, added by Contribute
users, are stored in the site.
