For further evidence of just how useful commands can be, the following sections look at a few of
Dreamweaver??™s standard commands.
Dreamweaver comes with a number of standard commands that, in addition to adding some
extra functionality, give you a taste of just how powerful commands can be. You can find a full
description of them in Chapter 3.
The Apply Source Formatting and Apply Source Formatting to Selection commands
All the code created by Dreamweaver is structured according to the current Tag Library settings. The Tag
Library identifies which codes are indented and which are on their own lines, as well as numerous other
specifications regarding HTML writing. Occasionally, a Web designer must work with Web pages created
earlier, by other designers using other programs, or even by hand. The Apply Source Formatting and Apply
Source Formatting to Selection commands can rewrite the original code??”of an entire Web page or a
selected part of the page, respectively??”so that it is structured according to the current Tag Library settings.
