"Dreamweaver CS3 Bible"

If you make any changes to insertbar.xml that affect category names or positions, you
must restart Dreamweaver for the changes to take effect. If you??™re simply moving or adding
objects, press Ctrl+click (Command+click) on the Options menu in the Insert bar and choose Reload
Extensions.
Each tag has two attributes, id and folder. The id attribute must be a unique identifier
for each element, so you can??™t have the same identification for a category and a button. The folder attribute
is the name of the folder inside the Configuration\Objects folder. The category in the Insert bar takes the
name of the category from the name of the folder; or if a folderinfo.txt file exists in the folder, the category
takes the name from the first line of that .txt file. The folderinfo.txt file is not required. Here??™s
an example that creates a category called My Objects:

Creating and Using Objects

That??™s all it takes to create a new category on the Insert bar. You can start placing objects in the folder you
just created. Dreamweaver displays categories in the order in which they??™re listed in insertbar.xml. If
you want your new custom category to appear first on the Insert bar, simply add it to the very beginning of
insertbar.
