With a properly formatted MXP file, the Extension Manager can even adjust your menu and keyboard

Creating and Using Objects
As mentioned, the primary source for Adobe Extension Package files is the Adobe Exchange
(www.adobe.com/exchange), but you can also retrieve these files from other sources, such as developers??™
sites or this book??™s DVD. If you??™ve located the MXP file from the Internet, your browser may offer you
the following alternative methods to start the installation:
n Download the file to your system and complete the installation after that process is complete.
n Install the file directly from the Internet.
It??™s a matter of personal preference, but I prefer to store all the extensions locally. The vast
majority of them tend to be fairly small and, if I need to install them again or on a different
machine, I don??™t have to repeat the download process. Adobe recommends that you maintain your extensions
at Dreamweaver CS3\Configuration\Downloaded Extensions, but you get no actual benefit from doing so.
To complete the extension installation, follow these steps:
1. If you choose to open the extension from the Internet, the Extension Manager is automatically
launched.
